The third Test match between India and England will be played from Wednesday at Ahmedabad's newly constructed Sardar Patel Stadium (Motera Stadium), the world's largest cricket stadium to host its first international match.
Motera has become the world's largest cricket stadium, crossing the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Located in Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, the Motera Stadium will be inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday as the third Test match between India and England will be on this ground.
The stadium has a total capacity of 110,000 spectators, but due to the Corona epidemic, 50 per cent of spectators have been allowed in this match. Before Motera, Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) was the largest cricket stadium in the world.
The venue in Ahmedabad was first opened in the 1980s, but has recently been renovated and now has a seating capacity of 110,000. The last time India played a cricket match in Motera was in 2014.
