    In order to enroll in PMA long course you have to fulfill some prerequisites which are given below:

    Your Gender should be male if you want to apply for PMA long course. It means the only males are eligible for PMA long courses.

    Your Material Status should be unmarried however if you are already serving the Pakistan army as a soldier then there is no worry if you are even married.

    As far as your qualification concerns then you must be Intermediate, 2-year graduation or 4 years graduation passed.

    Your height should be 5 feet 4 inches while your weight should be according to your body mass index.

    Your nationality should be Pakistani or you should have a domicile of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, otherwise, you will not eligible for PMA long course and join the Pakistan army as a lieutenant.

    How long is PMA training?

    The training period for PMA long course and the PMA Graduate course is different. Here we will discuss the time period of the PMA long course first and then we will discuss the PMA graduate course. 

    PMA long course:

    The total training period of the PMA long course is 2 years which will be further divided into four semesters, each semester will be of 6 months and after two years of training PMA long course cadet will be pass out as the second lieutenant.

    PMA graduate course:

    In the PMA graduate course cadets who already have done their graduation, will go through the one-year training period of military and after this cadet will be pass out as lieutenant or captain according to the qualification and education level of cadet.

    What are the Eligibility Criteria for PMA long course?

    There are many criteria for PMA long course which you have to be fulfilled if you want to be eligible for PMA long course.

    Qualification and Age:

    Education Age
    Intermediate or Equivalent 17-22 years
    2 Year Graduation and Serving Pakistan Navy OR Air Force 17-23 years
    4 Year Graduation i.e. BS(Hons), BA, BBA 17-24 years
    Already Army Serving Soldiers 17-25 years

    Academic Criteria for PMA long course:

    Candidates with a minimum of 55% marks in FA/FSC/Equivalent will be eligible for PMA long course.

    Candidates who have at least 60% or above marks in graduation such as BBA, BA, BS(Hons), and 50% marks in FA/FSC/Equivalent are eligible for PMA long course.

    Candidates from the specialized areas with domicile such as Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, FATA, Balochistan, District Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, District Neelum, Tehsil balakot of district Mansehra, Tharparker and tehsil Umer Kot in Sindh, Drawer Fort, Salamsar, District Rajanpur, Area of Cholistan Desert, Mojgarh and Dingarh of Punjab. The candidates from these areas should also be studying in the same area.

    Soldiers who are already serving the Pak army with 50% marks in FA/FSC/Equivalent will be eligible for PMA long course.

    Note:

    Hope Certificate:

    Those candidates who have passed the FA/FSC/Equivalent Part 1 examination with 60% marks are eligible for the PMA long course provided that they should have to bring a hope certificate about FA/FSC/Equivalent Part 2 from the head of the institute.

    What is the Procedure of Preliminary Selection in the PMA long course?

    Written/Intelligence Test /Initial Test:

    After successfully applying for PMA long course, you will get an email about the date and time of your Intelligence or Initial Test. Now I will explain to you. What is the Initial test and what is the syllabus of the PMA long course initial test?

    The initial test is a series of tests which is conducted before the ISSB test.

    Intelligence Test:

    An intelligence test is conducted to measure the problem-solving caliber of the candidate. This intelligence test is conducted on the computer and of two types.

    Verbal Inteligence Test:

    The verbal intelligence test consists of 65 to 100 MCQs which you have to complete in 30 minutes. In Verbal Intelligence Test characters and number series, Caparison of different types of Questions appeared that help the army in examining the problem-solving capabilities of Candidates that appear in the PMA long course Intelligence test. After Passing this Verbal Intelligence test candidate becomes eligible for Taking the Non-Verbal Intelligence Test.

    Non-Verbal Inteligence Test:

    The non-verbal intelligence test consists of 65 to 100 MCQs which candidates have to complete in 30 minutes. In non-verbal intelligence tests mostly Puzzles, shapes, and diagrams appear from which a candidate has to select the most suitable match for that particular question. After passing the Intelligence test a candidate becomes eligible to take the written exam.


    Written Test:


    The written test consists of 50 MCQS from different subjects such as English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, General Knowledge, Pakistan Studies, and Islamiat. After successfully qualifying Written-test a candidate of the PMA long course undergo a Physical and Medical Test.


    Physical Test:

    The physical test of PMA long course includes :
    1. 1.6 Km Run in 8 minutes
    2. Push-ups 15 repetitions in 2 minutes
    3. Sit-ups 20 repetitions in 2 minutes
    4. Chin-ups 3 repetitions in 2 minutes
    5. Ditch Crossing - 7'.4'' x 7'.4'' and 4' deep

    Medical Test:

    The Medical test of PMA long course includes :

    4. Flat Feet
    5. Chest Expansion
    6. Eyesight
    7. Knocking Knee
    8. Carry Angle
    After successfully passing the medical and physical exam a candidate for the PMA course go for Army Selection and Recruitment Center Interview.

    Initial Interview at Army Selection and Recruitment Center:

    After qualifying the medical and physical test, initial interview forms are given to candidates at Army Selection and Recruitment centers and this interview is taken by the National Security & Cyber War Brigadier. Most of the questions that are asked by the interviewer during the initial interview are general knowledge and Personal Introduction. Anyone with some concentration and confidence can easily pass the initial interview. After passing the initial interview the candidate has to fill up and submit ISSB forms.
    After completing and submitting ISSB from the short-listed candidate will be noticed for the ISSB test after 2 to 3 months through email or call-up letter.

    Further Selection Procedure:


    Candidates who are selected by AS&RC will be called for ISSB Test. After medical examination of Inter-Service Selection Board recommended candidates will be carried at Combined Miltary Hospital. The final selection of candidates will be carried out at GHQ based on the performance of the candidate.
