Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that Hoshangabad city in the state would be renamed Narmadapuram.
Recently, the Madhya Pradesh government has changed the name of Hoshangabad city in the state to Narmadapuram. It was announced by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan at the Narmada Jayanti program organized in Hoshangabad.
- First Hoshangabad was named after an attacker Hoshang Shah, who was the first ruler of Malwa.
- The city will now be called Narmadapuram after the Narmada River, the lifeline of the state.
- The state government will now send a proposal to the Center to change the name of Hoshangabad to Narmadapuram.
- The city of Hoshangabad is famous for its beautiful ghats on the banks of the river Narmada.

- राज्य सरकार अब होशंगाबाद का नाम बदलकर नर्मदापुरम करने के लिए केंद्र को प्रस्ताव भेजेगी |
