The authorities in Maharashtra's Palghar have banned weekly markets and mass marriages across the district in view of a spike in prevailing coronavirus cases situation in the state.
Recently, officials of Palghar in Maharashtra have banned weekly markets and large-scale marital celebrations in the district from February 25 until further orders in view of the situation of coronavirus infection. Only 50 people will be able to attend the wedding ceremony under the guidelines.
After 16,577 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in India in a day, the total number of infected in the country increased to 1,10,63,491. Out of which 1,07,50,680 people have become infection-free.
According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry today, February 26, at eight o'clock on Friday morning, 120 more people have died due to infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 1,56,825.
According to statistics, the first case of virus death has been reported in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep. At the same time, among the 120 people who died due to the virus in the last 24 hours, 56 are from Maharashtra, 14 from Kerala and 13 from Punjab.
In Palghar district, after the arrival of 45 new cases of infection on Thursday, the number of infections has increased to 45,838 and 1,204 people have died due to infection.
- According to the government's data, with a total of 1,07,50,680 people becoming infection-free, the recovery rate of patients in the country has increased to 97.17 percent, while the death rate from Covid-19 is 1.42 percent.
- According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 21,46,61,465 samples of Covid-19 have been tested in the country till 25 February.
- According to the figures of the Ministry, a total of 1,56,825 people have died due to the virus in the country so far. Maharashtra has the highest number of deaths (about 51,993).

- भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान अनुसंधान परिषद (आईसीएमआर) के अनुसार, देश में 25 फरवरी तक 21,46,61,465 नमूनों की कोविड-19 संबंधी जांच की जा चुकी है |
- मंत्रालय के आंकड़ों के अनुसार, देश में वायरस से अभी तक कुल 1,56,825 लोगों की मौत हुई है | जिनमे सर्वाधिक मौते(लगभग 51,993) महाराष्ट्र राज्य मे हुई है |
